Rare Tokai Les Paul Reborn 79' LS-120
Tokai Les Paul
Reborn Old 1979 Vintage
Used Purchase Operation confirmed.
☆ I replaced the capacitor, pot, etc. once . (It is not virgin solder.) I installed a 1961 PAF once, but in my opinion, the genuine DiMarzio PAF had a better sound.
☆ There is a possibility that the nut etc. may have been changed to improve the sound quality , so it is not completely original, but it seems like he has made some changes in the positive direction.
☆Accessories : Brown hard case (from the LS series and may not be original )
☆Weight: 4.1kg
☆ This is his vintage item, which has been over 40 years old, so please assume that there are scratches, bruises, etc. Please consider this. There's a Gibson Light Aged feel to it, such as the weather check, which makes you think it's a burst. The toggle switch is a little hard to switch, and I think he has more than 80% of the frets left . I don't think the LS-120 in this condition will be available in the future, and I think the price will continue to rise. I was hesitant about the ESP Navigator and G7, but I was drawn to the 70's vintage. If you have any questions, he will answer to the best of his knowledge. Thank you for your support.
With a heavy heart I am selling the best guitar I've ever played, and I've been playing 51 years and unfortunatly the hands don't work so well anymore. This is a 1980 Tokai LS-120 Reborn Old, the rarest most sought after Tokai as they were only made for 4 months during 1980. Based on the 59 Les Paul this is one of the most accurate 59 burst copys you can buy. Spec's are one piece Mahogany back and neck, two piece top, rosewood board, thin nitro finish, fret end nibs, just an amazing guitar all around. This example is superb too, very little play wear and almost no visible defects, looks like it's 4 years old instead of 38 years old. Sounds & plays just incredibly. Modifications include S/D Antiquities, Gibson Historic plastics, Faber aluminum tailpiece, switchcraft switch & jack, CTS pots, Luxe Bumblebee caps & 50's wiring. This is an amazing guitar, better than ANY Gibson r9 or historic I've played. Comes with original PCB board and Hardshell case lifton style. Pictures are with the original pickups installed, will ship with the antiquities installed. Best of all it's only 8.5 lbs and just sings. No disappointments on this one.
FS: 1980 Tokai Les Paul Reborn LS120
This is an all-original 1980 Tokai Les Paul Reborn LS120. No modifications have ever been done to this guitar. I purchased this guitar from a fellow board member in 2013. Time to pass it on to the next lucky owner.
“120” is stamped into the fretboard just above the neck pickup (pictured).
“0006670” is stamped on the back of the headstock. This dates the guitar to 1980.
This guitar has a few scratches and nicks here and there. Frets are in fantastic condition. Please look closely at the pictures. I’m happy to answer and questions. The guitar is in Santa Cruz CA. Contact me if you would like to look at it in person.
The guitar comes with a new alligator skin hard shell case. Price is $2600 plus shipping.
This Tokai has a striking appearance because of the grain lines in the veneer top. And I personally love the way the colour is faded on the place where the forearm rests, just like an original 50s burst.
She came to me with Grovers and a not functioning DiMarzio bridge pickup. I have changed the pickups to German boutique pickups (AGL pickups). The original DiMarzio PAFs will be included.
The bridge has been changed to a Faber HYBRIDge-M-59NA locking ABR. Pots, caps & wiring have been changed to 50s wiring (with 60s American PIO caps). Original parts will be included.
This is the lightest playing LP I have ever owned, you will love her.
Weight: 4,14 kg or 9 lbs 2 oz.
Neck profile: within normal range of a 1959 burst thickness and very lightly shouldered.
Frets are in excellent condition.
Very, very thin nitro finish.
Comes with Thomann HSC (or an original pink lining Tokai HSC on request but at higher price).
Price 1800 euro plus shipping.
