Hey peeps,
I have looked through several threads and also catalogues to learn the differences in models. I must say Tokai was extremely detailed in the first few years explaining the specs and differences of each model.
So I would be looking to grab a Tokai Hard Puncher pb65N (natural finish) ideally or, a Tokai pb60 (sunburst) with maple fretboard. From the catalogue this model was in production from 79-82 I am located in the UK and don't have access to yahoo.jp sadly. I know Reverb, ebay and a few Japanese stores like ishibashi. Where else would you suggest I start looking?
Also is there a link to find out the going rate for models?
If a PB80 pops up I wouldn't say no but I presume they are like gold dust. It's interesting that the PB80 is a one piece body and also it was, I presume one of the first CNC machined basses of its time. Tokai seemed very very proud to have used this new technology back in the late 70's.
